What is a Local Criminal Justice Board?
Local Criminal Justice Boards (LCJBs) are an important element of the Criminal Justice System (CJS) reform process. Our aim is to join up local criminal justice agencies and create a system where we work together to achieve common aims and objectives. Sussex Criminal Justice Board (SCJB) is making significant progress in achieving our nationally and locally set targets
Our national Public Service Agreement targets for 2008-09 are:
To deliver a more effective, transparent and responsive Criminal Justice System for victims and the public.
We will adopt the following four key principles:
- Effective in bringing offences to justice.
- The public will be confident and engaged.
- The needs of victims will be at the heart of our service.
- Simple, efficient processes will be introduced, supported by modern technology
