Team from Dorset Probation "Highly Recommended" in the National Criminal Justice Awards and catagory winner in the Dorset Criminal Justice Awards for the Team Commitment to Diversity
An extract from the citation read by Mrs. Mary Fielding, Chair of the Dorset Probation Area :- "This award is much deserved and recognises the important achievements of the Education, Training and Employment Team in Dorset Probation, specifically in relation to ensuring equality of opportunity for female offenders under our supervision. Female offenders are widely acknowledged as a group with specific education and employability needs which should be met through a targeted and flexible approach, making a meaningful contribution to reducing their likelihood of re-offending. The four recipients of this award have demonstrated that they fully understand these needs, and have consequently developed a range of innovative and creative approaches, which have had, and continue to have, a huge impact on the lives of the female beneficiaries."
